There are multiple ways to advertise your campaign with The Stillwegian.
The Election Flight package is every ad product we offer a candidate, bundled at a discount, reserved in the order it's paid. Only two are available this election cycle — because newsletter advertising, our best ad space, is limited. Everything else on our rate card is available all cycle, à la carte, to any campaign.
What's included in the package
Four weeks of newsletter advertising — in-story and in the newsletter. Your ad runs inside every news story we publish — every city council meeting, every school board story, every Pioneer football recap — and goes out to 2,096+ newsletter members with an extremely high 58% open rate.
Eight weeks of billboard ads
The wide ad unit — prominent placement on homepage and in the footer of every page on the site — through Election Day. This is how you reach the reader who has no idea your race exists.
Eight weeks of sidebar ads
The vertical unit next to every story, through Election Day.
Enhanced Candidate Profile
Every candidate already has a profile on the Election Desk — bio, questionnaire, reader endorsements, election record, headshot. The Enhanced Candidate Profile is the upgrade: your own statement, up to 400 words, unedited, added directly onto that same page. Embed a campaign video. List your top priorities and share organizational endorsements. List your upcoming campaign events, add up to six campaign images, and four action links: donate, volunteer, yard sign, contact. It runs below your existing free profile, clearly labeled as paid.

Why campaigns buy this instead of piecing it together
An upgrade to a page voters already trust. Every candidate gets a free profile. The Enhanced Candidate Profile upgrades yours with a full page in your own voice — every other channel gives you a headline and a link; this gives you the rest of the page.
An audience already deciding. The Election Desk is our second-most-visited page, behind only the homepage — readers arrive on purpose, to decide how to vote. A boosted Facebook post reaches people scrolling past.
The only way into the inbox. Newsletter advertising is not sold outside a Election Flight package. If you want your message in the stories we publish and in a newsletter that opens at nearly triple the industry average.
Comparative cost. One direct mail piece to 2,000 Payne County households runs well past $1,000 all-in and gets thrown away. The Flight is $1,200, runs your message in our journalism for four weeks, on the site for eight weeks, and gives you a full page in your own words through Election Day.
What it costs
| Rate | |
|---|---|
| À la carte (4 wks newsletter ads + 8 wks billboard + 8 wks sidebar + Enhanced Candidate Profile) | $1,400 |
| The Election Flight | $1,200 |
A 14% discount — the only discount we offer. Prepaid, same rate for every candidate in every race, published openly. Two available this cycle, reserved in the order they're paid.
If both Flights are gone by the time you call, billboard, sidebar, and the Enhanced Candidate Profile are still available separately, at the same published rate our commercial advertisers pay — just without the discount, and without newsletter advertising, which only comes inside the Election Flight package.
À la carte rates:
| Placement | Per week | 4 weeks | 8 weeks (through Election Day) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Newsletter ad (Flight only — not sold separately) | $100 | $400 | — |
| Billboard | $50 | $200 | $400 |
| Sidebar | $25 | $100 | $200 |
| Enhanced Candidate Profile | — | — | $400 |
The Flight is the only discounted product on this sheet. The newsletter rate is shown for reference and value comparison only; it cannot be purchased outside a Flight, which is why the 8-week column is blank — a Flight includes four weeks of newsletter advertising, not eight.
The ground rules
Every ad unit is labeled paid. Newsletter ads, billboard, sidebar, and the Enhanced Candidate Profile all carry a clear paid-advertising label. Nothing you buy is mistaken for our reporting.
No opponents. You may not name, picture, or reference an opponent anywhere in the package. You can name policies and ideas. We don't run attack advertising — which means no one runs it against you here either.
Billboard and sidebar ads are site-wide, including candidate profiles. These units rotate and are not page-targeted. Your ad will appear on your opponent's profile, and theirs on yours.
Your committee disclosure is required on every unit, per Oklahoma Ethics Commission rules: Authorized and paid for by [Committee Name].
No borrowed endorsements. Officeholders may appear in your images only if they've formally endorsed you and you can document it.
AI images are labeled and should not depict real people photorealistically. AI enhanced candidate photos will be labeled as such.
Nothing in the Flight changes your placement, your editorial profile, or our coverage. Every candidate's bio, questionnaire responses, election record, and reader endorsement letters are free and identical.
What is not for sale
