The No. 16 ranked Lady Pioneers pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season Tuesday night, toppling No. 1 Norman on their home court in four sets, 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 25-15.
Sophomore Sloane Rattay led the attack with 13 kills, while freshman Lydia Matlock added 7 and junior Jessica Fahlenkamp chipped in 5 on a blistering .556 hitting percentage. Senior setter Lillian Jeffery orchestrated the offense with 24 assists — surpassing 600 career assists in the process — and kept Norman off balance from the service line, delivering 7 aces.

Senior libero Taylor Rattay anchored the back row with 21 digs, bringing her career total to 697 — just three shy of the 700 mark. Rattay also steadied the passing game with 26 receptions, while Sloane Rattay chipped in 17 digs. At the net, Matlock and Fahlenkamp combined for 5 blocks to slow Norman’s high-powered attack.
After dropping the second set, Stillwater regrouped to edge Norman in a nail-biting third before rolling through the fourth with poise and confidence.

“Norman is excellent ... they have three of the best hitters in the state,” head coach Andrue Brown said. “But our girls showed up ready to play. Everything we practiced, they executed. Lil and Alyssa fought through sickness, Taylor was the dog she always is, and Sloane stepped up big. This was a total team win.”
Stillwater (5-8) now returns home Thursday, Sept. 11 to host Norman North (2-9). The 9th grade team opens at 4 p.m., followed by JV at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.
