The Big 12's Freshman of the Year is expected to leave OSU after one season
The transfer portal bug continues to plague Oklahoma State.
On Thursday evening, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that OSU redshirt-freshman edge rusher Wendell Gregory is expected to enter the portal. Shortly after, Gregory quote tweeted a post made by On3’s official X account, saying “God steer the wheel,” acknowledging the report.

A former four-star recruit and transfer from South Carolina, Gregory earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors after a 27-tackle — 12 of which came for a loss of yardage — and four-sack season. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defender becomes one of the most noteworthy departures for the Cowboys this offseason.

Gregory’s transfer announcement comes two weeks after the hiring of former North Texas coach Eric Morris, who replaced former coach Mike Gundy after 21 seasons. There was speculation that given his extended period of silence, Gregory might stay put in Stillwater. Thursday’s announcement, however, dwindles the likelihood of that happening.
