Candidate endorsement letters: How to submit
The Stillwegian is introducing a new reader feature for the 2026 election season: endorsement letters, published alongside candidate bios and questionnaire responses as part of our voter guide coverage.
What's new: Stillwegian members can now submit letters endorsing candidates on the June 16 primary ballot — and the November general election ballot.
- Letters must be 150 to 300 words, written in your own words, and focused on why you support your candidate. Letters that attack opposing candidates will be rejected without revision.
Who can submit: This is a reader privilege open to all Stillwegian members — free or paid.
- Submit using your Stillwegian member email address to help with verification.
Where they'll appear: Accepted letters will be published on The Stillwegian Election Desk webpage alongside candidate bios and questionnaire responses.
- Letters may also be shared in their entirety on The Stillwegian's social media channels. Submitters can opt out of social media publication in the form.
The June 16 primary elections:
- Payne County Board of Commissioners, District 1
- Payne County Board of Commissioners, District 3
- Oklahoma Senate, District 20
- Oklahoma House of Representatives, District 33
- Oklahoma House of Representatives, District 35
The deadline: Letters for the June primary must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 14.
- Read the full submission guidelines and submit your letter at thestillwegian.news/candidate-endorsement-letters-how-to-submit.
The bottom line: Your voice matters in local elections. This is your opportunity to tell your neighbors why your candidate deserves their vote — in your own words, on the record.
