Stillwater High School senior libero Taylor Rattay has been selected as one of three finalists for the Oklahoma Defensive Player of the Year award by PrepDig, the state's volleyball recruiting platform.

Rattay joins Rachel Megna of Oklahoma Christian School and Caryl Womack of Edmond Santa Fe as the final candidates for the defensive honor. The winner will be determined by online voting.

PrepDig cited Rattay's defensive consistency and leadership in their selection, noting her "ability to snag a key dig just when her team needed it was impeccable." The publication described the Stillwater senior as "an anchor for the team's defense all season."

About the Award

The Defensive Player of the Year recognition is based on season statistics, in-person observations by PrepDig staff, and input from coaches across Oklahoma. According to PrepDig, the three finalists represent "the cream of the crop" among defensive players statewide.

Stillwater head coach Andrue Brown has spoken frequently about Rattay's leadership and character throughout the season. PrepDig noted that Rattay's "super high level club experience" elevated her play entering her senior season, placing her among "an elite group of players to come through and play for Stillwater."

Season Accomplishments

Rattay's defensive excellence earned her multiple postseason honors this year. She was selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Volleyball team on the Large East roster and received First Team All-Conference honors from the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference.

The Stillwater senior also earned AVCA All-Region honors, which recognizes top players from Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Rattay was one of three Lady Pioneers to receive the regional honor, joining her sister Sloane Rattay and fellow senior Lillian Jeffery.

According to MaxPreps statistics, Rattay led all Oklahoma high school volleyball players in digs during the 2025 season with 537 total digs, averaging 5.5 digs per set over 98 sets played. The senior libero surpassed 1,000 career digs during her time at Stillwater High School.

Rattay is the only finalist from the COAC conference. Megna has committed to play at the University of Tulsa next season, while Womack is a junior who recorded nearly 90 blocks this season for Edmond Santa Fe.
