

The Stillwater Pioneers varsity volleyball team delivered an early-season statement on Tuesday night, storming back from two sets down to defeat the Westmoore Jaguars in a dramatic five-set battle, 23–25, 22–25, 25–23, 25–21, 16–14.
After a slow start, the Pioneers refused to fold in front of their home crowd at Pioneer Field House. Senior outside hitter Sloane Rattay paced the offense with 15 kills, while setter Lillian Jeffery dished out 34 assists to fuel the comeback.
Middle hitter Lydia Matlock provided a spark at the net with 7 kills and 2 blocks. From the service line, Sadie Moore gave Stillwater momentum with 4 aces, while defensive specialist Taylor Rattay chipped in an ace and assist.

Alyssa Thomas delivered the swing of the match with a decisive kill in the fifth set, helping Stillwater complete its comeback over Westmoore. Thomas finished the night with 9 kills and a block, giving the Pioneers steady production at the net.

The Pioneers clawed out a narrow win in the third set before tying the match with a strong fourth-set push. The decisive fifth set swung back and forth, with both teams trading match points until Stillwater sealed it 16–14.
The victory improves Stillwater to 3–5 on the season. The Pioneers now turn their attention to a Thursday road trip to Bixby to face the Spartans (2–3). Westmoore, now 5–2, will meet Norman North in Central Oklahoma Conference action.
