Oklahoma State’s quarterback room has taken another blow.
On Thursday, OSU redshirt-freshman Hauss Hejny announced on social media his intention to enter the transfer portal. He was named the Cowboys’ starting quarterback to begin the year, but suffered a season-ending foot injury three drives into OSU’s season opener against UT-Martin and did not appear in another game. In his lone appearance this season, Hejny went 5-for-10 passing for 96 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 27 yards and a touchdown on four attempts.

Hejny transferred to OSU from TCU last offseason. He was named QB1 to start the year, but suffered a broken foot three drives into OSU’s season opener against UT-Martin. https://t.co/SUkYMCzi07
Hejny was a four-star recruit out of high school and was rated as the No. 201 overall prospect according to 247Sports. He eventually committed to TCU and spent his true-freshman campaign with the Horned Frogs before transferring to OSU last offseason.

Hejny will have four seasons of eligibility remaining, pending a medical redshirt approval.
With Hejny’s departure, OSU will not have a returning quarterback in 2026. On Tuesday, Poke Report's Robert Allen reported that North Texas redshirt-freshman quarterback Drew Mestemaker had reached a two-year NIL deal with OSU. However, neither Mestemaker's commitment nor any NIL contract with the Cowboys have become official.
