A second-place finish in the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships is firmly within reach for Oklahoma State, but greater checkpoints await heading into the final day.

Through four sessions of the national tournament, which is taking at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, the Cowboys sit in second place with 111.5 team points. OSU sent four wrestlers to Saturday's championship round, and leads third-place Nebraska by 21.5 and fourth-place Iowa by 30. And while first-place Penn State has mathematically clinched the team title — the Nittany Lions lead OSU by 41.5 will officially earn their fifth-straight team championship after Saturday — a second-straight top-three finish is an accomplishment that can't be overlooked for second-year coach David Taylor.

The Cowboys' finalists include top-seeded Jax Forrest at 133, second-seeded Sergio Vega at 141, fifth-seeded Landon Robideau at 157 and Cody Merrill at 197. It marks the first time in program history that OSU has sent more than two freshmen to the NCAA finals. It also marks the first time in which OSU has produced four finalists since 2014.

The Cowboys also produced eight All-Americans, which include the aforementioned four, in addition to Troy Spratley at 125, Casey Swiderski at 149, Zack Ryder at 184 and Konner Doucet at heavyweight. It marks OSU's highest number of All-Americans since 2017, matching a program record.

OSU finished the second day 17-7, improving its tournament record to 34-10 through four sessions. The fifth session begins at 10 a.m. central standard time on Saturday, taking place before the finals round, which commences at 6 p.m.
