About the office
Oklahoma state senators serve four-year terms and are members of the upper chamber of the state Legislature. Their responsibilities include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes. Senators also contribute to the creation of state law through legislation they introduce and shepherd through the legislative process, and the Senate serves to advise and consent on many gubernatorial appointments. The Legislature meets in regular session from February to May each year.

Senate District 20 covers Payne, Noble, Pawnee, Logan, and Kingfisher counties.
Note for Stillwater readers: Most of Stillwater is in Senate District 21, currently represented by Randy Grellner, R-Cushing. District 21 covers Payne and Creek counties, was last on the ballot in 2024, and is next scheduled for 2028.

Chuck Hall, 59, Perry
Republican — Incumbent · Won the June 16 primary
Hall is a fourth-generation Oklahoman raised and educated in Perry public schools. He has represented Senate District 20 since 2018 and chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee. He serves as chairman of the board of Exchange Bank & Trust Company and previously served as Perry's mayor from 2007 to 2013.

Mark LeMarr, 63, Crescent
Republican — Did not advance
LeMarr has pastored CrossPointe Assembly Church in Crescent since 1989. He previously served as mayor of Cimarron City and spent eight years on the Rural Water District No. 2 board. He pledged to accept no lobbyist money.
