OSU has its quarterback for the 2027 class.
On Saturday, Iowa Colony High School quarterback Carson White out of Rosharon, Texas announced his commitment to Oklahoma State, giving the Cowboys their first commitment in the upcoming recruiting cycle. Rated as a consensus three-star recruit in his class, White chose the Cowboys over the likes of Baylor, Houston, Texas Tech, SMU, Auburn, Nebraska and others.

He is rated as the No. 417 prospect in his class according to 247Sports, the No. 28 overall quarterback in the cycle and the No. 57 prospect in Texas. It's also worth noting that White's recruiting ranking has steadily climbed over the past year, and will likely continue to do so over the course of the 2026 season.
Here is a look at what the Cowboys are getting with White's pledge.
What the Cowboys are getting in White
A true gunslinger.
At 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, White fits the prototype of a multitude of past recruits of OSU coach Eric Morris. His deep ball is marveled by pundits and national analysts, while his mobility is an undermined facet of his makeup.
White led Iowa Colony to a 12-2 record and an appearance in the Texas 5A-D2 state quarterfinals as a junior in 2025. There, the Pioneers fell to Randle 45-35. White threw for 32 touchdowns to just six interceptions, completing 63% of his passes for 1,963 yards last season, where he also rushed for 15 touchdowns and 678 yards.
As a sophomore in 2024, White threw for 30 touchdowns to nine interceptions. He also rushed for 18 scores and 832 yards.
What White's commitment means for OSU
White is also a standout baseball player for Iowa Colony.
He held a plethora of Division I offers, including OSU, as a center fielder. Other offers include UT-Arlington, Dallas Baptist, Texas State, among other programs that offered White with the intent of prioritizing football.
Morris has mentioned how he has prioritized recruiting two-sport athletes. See Patrick Mahomes and Cam Ward as noteworthy past examples.
OSU was the final Big 12 program to secure a quarterback for its 2027 class. White's commitment bolstered OSU to the No. 11 slot in 247Sports' team rankings. And while it is early in the upcoming cycle, Saturday marked a good start for Morris and Co.
